Can you tell me your opinion about this revolver.
It's hard in France to find 27-2 with 6" barrel that should be my first choice.
I found this revolver at a price of 600 Euros (660 USD).
Is it a bargain or must I pass my way?

I owned one years ago that I carried backpacking. The revolver was fine for what I used it for but should no way be considered similar to a N, K or L frame Smith. The Trackers have an alloy frame which for me made it harder to hold on target. If anything, think of it as a clunky J frame.

I am a Charter Arms supporter: the steel Undercovers in 38 Special have been fine, reliable revolvers for many decades. The 44 Specials with SS frames are also quite good.

That said, a 357 Magnum revolver probably would be best served with a steel frame.;)
If your plan is to shoot 357 Magnum loads a lot, one of those (supposedly?) "weak K-frames"(!) or a Ruger might be a better long-term choice.

Good luck!

(And "Cheers!)

I don't know what revolvers are available in France. If the Astra 357 revolvers are available I would strongly consider one of those over the Charter Arms if regular shooting is you goal. I had a Astra until my son talked me out of it and we still shoot it regularly. I'm not kicking dirt on Charter Arms, my Tracker was a great camping gun, carried lots and shot little.

Thanks for your opinion.
I have opportunity to buy a Rger Security Six with 6" barrel.
It seems in good health and the price is about 500 USD.

Many thanks for the advice.
Unfortunately ASTRA revolvers are very difficult to find on the market in France.
They must be good since all those i've seen were sold.

A $660 Charter versus a $500 Ruger? Buy the Ruger. Buy the Ruger quickly before he changes his mind.

Finally i found a S&W 27-2 what is rather infrequent in France.
Price about 800 $.
Built in 1973.
In course of negotiation...
Some pictures, please give me your advice
