Hi All - I have been an auto owner shooting FMJ and never shot lead. A bore snake and Brake Free did me fine.
I recently got a Model 632, .327 revolver; the wife has been shooting .32 SW longs and perhaps will step up to .32 H&R Magnum. But for now she shoots LRN and LWC by Megatech, Fiocchi, and S&B so I am somewhat worried about leading.
I read the threads and got a Lewis Lead cloth, a bore brush instead of my snake, and oversize .338 brush for the cylinders. I used a patch of Lewis, Hoppes 9 with the brushes, and then patched but they are still a bit grey.
Bore "looks OK" but looking down the cylinders I see a ring about a half inch from the front of the cylinder and if I slide a smooth plastic from the front in I can feel a roughness about !/2 inch in. Is it lead? OR
STUPID Question : Is that what you call the cylinder throat? I'm thinking the cylinder narrows because a shell will not enter from the front.
I hate like heck to submit this but I really need an answer.
