Revolver Lock

I am opposed to the lock, so I will not buy a model with it. Easy answer.

I have heard that there are LE agencies that prohibit use of lock equipped revolvers for any official purpose, such as a BUG.

Another vote to ignore it. I've never seen a failure on my PC 637 with IL. To me it seems like ignoring it causes no problems, while messing around with it increases the chances of creating a problem that otherwise wouldn't have been there.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I am told by the owner of one of them… the lock was (TIG?) welded inop.

I’ve thought of taking a similar route on my 66-8. I’ve welded on a few different firearms at this point without issues. With some Swiss needle files and a cold-ish weld (MIG) the lock and flag slot would disappear. I haven’t had any issues with the lock though so it’s low on the list.
