Revolversmiths?

Here is what was recommended to me by Smith & Wesson when I inquired about some revolver repairs that they (S&W) do not do anymore.

"I recommend contacting the following Gunsmiths for more information:
Turnbull Restoration 585-657-6338
Bowen Classic Arms 865-984-3583
Duncan Gun Works – 760-727-0515
Clarks Custom - 318-949-0072"

Is there a list on the forum of the reputable, mid to top end Revolversmiths in the US?

Thank you
There isn't a master list, but there have been many threads over the years discussing recommended 'smiths if you search.

What work are you looking to have done, and are you good with shipping or do you require someone near you?

Answer those questions and we can probably come up with some good names.

Otherwise, still active top revolversmiths include:

Frank Glenn, Accuracy Precision
Nelson Ford, The Gunsmith
Gemini Customs
TK Customs
Dave Laubert, Defensive Creations

What happened to Mark Hartshorne / Pinnacle High Performance? Just noticed that Google is saying that they're "permanently closed"

Circumstances not known though there was talk of health issues. Whatever the case, Pinnacle is closed.

I know of no list ... but , in Louisuana I take all my work to

Clark Custom Guns , Clark Custom Guns | Established 1950 | Princeton Louisiana

Are they still in business? I've been trying to email and call them for almost a month. They haven't responded to my emails and they don't answer the phones.

On a related note I am happy that my search turned up this thread. I've had revolvers tuned by 3 different shops (including Clark Custom) and none of them seem to be in business any longer. I was searching for Nelson Ford and I'm happy to see the positive feedback he gets on this forum.

Has anyone used Nelson for a full action job?

I'm pretty sure Forum Member Series Guy is a revolver smith in the Pittsburgh area, and maybe he knows of someone wherever you are. Allegheny Arms in Bethel Park South of PGH is well known around here, among others, I'm sure.
(I'm sorry if I got that first name wrong.)

Clark Custom Guns in Princeton, Louisiana is still in business. I have been a customer of theirs for 50+ years. I live approximately 15 miles from the shop. They are closed on Monday and do not answer the phone on Wednesday to allow the gunsmiths to work on guns uninterrupted. Call and ask for Clay who is the revolversmith. He is a very knowledgeable guy, does an excellent job on any kind of work on revolvers, and is very friendly and easy to talk to on the phone. Good luck.

Anyone here remember Jim Stroh of Alpha Precision ? Back in his prime he was a true artist at Smith gunsmithing .

Yes, unfortunately retired. He and Jerry Keefer were both known for the precision. I'm working with a couple different guys now but won't post anything until getting the guns back and testing.
