I've seen some fifteen round mags on gunbroker.com for the 6906. They have a bumper on the bottom. Can someone post pics of a 6906 with one of these mags inserted?

They're listed as 669 magazines.

Ram-line used to make a 15 rounder that fit FLUSH in a 6906. I have one and it looks very similar to the standard 12 rounders. Sorry, unable to post a picture.

The easy way to get the results you are looking for is to simply buy an extra 5906 magazine or two, then order the S&W Grip+2 from S&W. The "Grip+2" slides over the longer 5906 (15rd) magazine and when you insert the 5906 mag in your 6906 it looks like it was born there.

I have two "Grip+2's" on order from S&W, but at present they are backordered.

I believe CDNN sells a MecGar 17rd flush mount magazine for the 5906 and I would not be surprised if the "Grip+2" would fit that mag. pefectly and those folks looking for maximum capacity w/standard appearance could have their cake and eat it too...

FWIW other than factory mags, and MecGar mags (which oftentimes ARE factory mags)I have never had good luck with ProMags and the like.

Best Wishes,

Jesse

Here you go. It's an old pic, so forgive the quality. It's a 6946, but you get the idea.

Personally, I recommend against the adapters. It sucks pinching your hand during a speed reload, and without the pinky extension, the grip just doesn't feel right. But, a lot of people do like them.

Here's another pix but of a 6904 with a 59 series mag. When I was in uniform I carried the 15 rd mag but carried the standard mag when in plain clothes. The feel is pretty close to a 5904.
Note what Hawgleg posted about getting pinched during a quick reload.

As a non-LEO, senior citizen to boot, there is no such concept in my world as a "speed reload"..

IF I cannot resolve a confrontation by 15+1 115 grain DoubleTap jhp's + the additional 6+1 rounds of Speer Gold Dot jhp's in my b/u Seecamp LWS380 I will fall on my sword (as if I had one) and kill MYSELF.

I have no doubt you gentlemen (& ladies) who have carried such a set-up on the job know what you are talking about, but a reload in MY circumstances (especially considering I don't even carry a b/u mag.)just isn't going to happen.

If I am confronted by a whole "tribe" of bad guys seeking to inflict pain on this tired old body I'll just dispatch the ones in front and hope the rookies at the rear lose courage and run away.

I should think watching a bakers dozen or so of your gang members getting shot in front of you would cause you to stop and reflect on the depth of your dedication to hurting the old fart..

But hey, I'm old, what do I know?

No offense,

Jesse
