I am in VA and this will be the first local gun show since I got bitten by the old wheelie bug, so I plan on going. Anyone else going...any pointers for a gun show newby?

I will probably be there. Walk the whole show before buying unless the odd extra ordinary deal pops up at you. Buy your ammo last or take it directly to your vehicle. It gets heavy toting it around. If looking for something specific ask the dealers. Everything is not out on the tables. Sample the Elk jerky and I bet youwill get some to nibble on. Don't get discourage when you see the parking lot. Folks are coming and going all the time so you will find a place to park.

I may go there but with the price of gas these days it is very possible that I may skip it. I have been to that show many times and it is usually pretty much the same people and a bunch of the same stuff. I just don't seem to find many good items at fair prices at gun shows anymore.

I agree about carrying stuff around with you. It is usually very crowded and there isn't much room in the aisles. Many people walk around looking at the stuff on the tables and will run right into you or step in front of you and stop when you are trying to look at something. It takes some patience to get to look at what you might be interested in. I haven't seem many good S&W revolvers at fair prices at this or any gun show the last couple of years. Maybe I just don't get there at the right time.

I often find more guns that I like looking at down the road at Greentop when I go to the show in Richmond. The prices there are high but they have a bunch of new and used guns there. If you go to Richmond, its worth taking a side trip there. Hope you enjoy your time there. It beats working!

Isn't this the same Richmond show that the ATF Goons & the Richmond cops task force harrased attendees at a couple of years ago, and got the ATF Director called on the carpet by Congress? They were following people home from the show and going to their neighbors houses and telling them " Did you know that there are guns in your neighbors house? Don't you feel frightened, etc?" and following female gun shoppers around the show, claiming they were probably making straw puchases for gang member boyfriends, etc.

Anyone going to the Richmond Gun Show also needs to go to the New Bass Pro Shop at Rt. 1 and Lewistown Road. I went there yesterday and was almost overwhelmed at the variety of items there. I would think that the People at Gander Mtn. are somewhat concerned about their future.
