What's your favorite 'scope reticle for hunting rifles?

I think the one I prefer is called the 4A in Europe, with three heavier crosshairs and a standard one on top, for better visibility. But the three heavier lower arms provide for quick alignment and use in lower light.

The Duplex with four heavier arms and a thinner ccenter is also good.

What's your preference?

I pretty much prefer the duplex. Probably because my Leupolds came with it and it's what I am accustomed to. The outer part comes quick to the eye and the inner crosshairs are fine enough that that they don't subtend the target at longer ranges.

I like the crosshair better thn a post or 4a, and the duplex is the variety of th crosshair I like best. I like lower power scopes: my Rem 760 carbine, a brush gun, has a Weaver K 2.5 and my hunting rifles don't have over 4X. Fo higher power scopes another reticle might be better.

I have one I love but have no idea what it is called. On an old Weaver K1.5 and a K2 the bottom portion of the retical is bold and tappers from 1 MOA above the horizontal (fine) crosshair to the base where it is 1 MOA thick, so it is like a single post. It is very quick for lever action ranges in low light (Think early season deer in a hilly woods half an hour before sundown).
