Rifle that kicks like a mule....

Cousin's Marlin 444

Old Remington pump (think was a 788) in 270.Stock drop was wrong

Old Remington 11-48 recoil operated in 12 ga 2 3/4. Made to mistake at shooting at duck at 12 o'clock with # magnum. Won't do that again

I for one can believe SC_Mike's story about jump starting a truck with a 303. I had a MK1 No. 4 that had to be the most miserable rifle to shoot prone. The butt doesn't fit my shoulder, and the stock design seemed to magnify recoil. Also, don't try a Marlin 1895 Cowboy with the crescent buttplate. That sucker just plain hurts.

I have a Nagant Carbine and do not find it that bad. Same with firing the famous British "jungle" Carbine in .303.

I did fire a Weatherby in .460 from the bench and that one got my attention. I was ROing at my gun club years back and a well know big game hunter Dr Brendon Macomber was sighting in getting ready to go to Africa. I was a previous patent of his and he told me "hey take a couple shots".:D

Macomber...headed to Africa for a safari. Did his wife go with him?

+1 to anyone who gets the reference. ;)
