Right & Left shoulder holsters??

I have actually done this!

Years ago a friend gave me a Bianchi lefty shoulder holster, and I already had a righty Safariland. Both were brown leather with the white elastic strap that goes behind your neck and loops over your opposite shoulder. One day just for fun I took the elastic bands off both holsters and attached them together using just one strap. I never tried to conceal them, but it sure was fun showing up to the range with it on. Right side carried a 6.5" Model 29, while the left side carried 6" Model 57.

After watching "The Mummy" a few times, I thought about getting some kind of rig so I could carry both of these 22-4's at once. I figure I'd probably only do it once at my range for grins, so I haven't pursued it very much. I suppose I might also wear it to a neighborhood Halloween party. :)

Maybe if I ever get into leatherworking I'll come up with a DIY dual-shoulder rig, as I can't see spending a lot of $$$ on such a whim.

Anybody have any suggestions where I might find one, though, just in case I lose my mind at some point?

Back when I was still a young police officer and after carrying a 686 Smith for two years, our dept went to the semi-autos. My duty gun became a Beretta 92FS (still carry it today). Well I soon wanted a shoulder rig for it for off-duty use and for the occasional part -time armed plain clothes work we got offered. I bought an expensive Safariland shoulder rig that balanced out the heavy 92FS with a double mag pouch and cuff holder on the off side. I learned very quickly that shoulder rigs will beat your ribs to death anytime you walk at more than a slow walk. Trotting or running in one is insanely painful. Buy what you want, but I'm just letting you know the realities of real world carry.

Roy Baker made my grandfather this rig on one of his visits, obviously for a pair of 1911 5". Can't say how practical it is, because it isn't, but it's way cool to have around.

Very cool rig, Eagle! I didn't know Roy did anything other than pancake holsters! I hate to admit it, but I've been thinkin about a double rig of some sort for my 57s, and lve been leaning toward some kind of shoulder rig.

That is not real world with a correctly made holster. Mine has tie downs for both sides and I used to be able to run, now I only walk. My bianchi X19 for SW 39 did bounce because of the lack of tie down, the safariland for 6" 19 does not irritated ribs while walking. Black Hills Leather will make you a comfortable rig, single, double, hip. I would avoid triple K, uncle mikes can be tolerable for 6-8 hrs, Last safariland I bought was 1979 and I have been wearing and trying different brands for the last 36 yrs. Be Safe,

I think Skeeter had a pair of Commanders at one time that he had Colt do some custom work on. What models they were does not matter, really.

What I do recall was him writing that he could never draw both at the same time with out them banging together.

At least I think that is what I remember.

He must have associated with some really bad hombres to need to be able to draw both at the same time!
