Yes, decent stuff in my opinion, also the Bismuth is affordable if you need non-toxic.

Academy Sports sells Rio shells, have also seen them for sale in smaller town supermarkets and hardware stores. Never tried any, but wouldn't expect they are much different from any other brand.
I've shot several flats at targets and they seem too work as good as anything else. Larry

I had an Ithaca 37 Ultralight that wouldn't feed them but they shot ok in my 11-87. These were in 20 gauge.

I bought some 20 gauge. I think there made in Texas.

They passed that ammo out to use when we had a trap or sporting clays shoot, for our 12 Ga. shotguns.
In my O/U I could look at the barrels after shooting it and it was a clean burning load and it broke the birds.
It is a step up from the cheaper Estate loads but..........
Hay, free is free, I'm not complaining, as long as they break birds and you collect awards.
For serious shooting I like the Gold STS hulls in 7 1/2's with the Green hulls for skeet or singles with #8's, if I am in the finals.

Our base shotgun range sells them for a good price. In fact, I really can't reload 12 gauge shells for the cost, so I just buy 'em and save my time at the loading bench.
At any rate, My average scores (23 to 24 and an occasional 25) are no different with these as with my handloads or other brands. I average about 100 rounds a week at skeet and 5 stand and I haven't had a problem yet in my Browning OUs.

I’ve shot a few cases of .410 bore and 28 gauge loads in my 870’s and 1100. No problemo.......
I've shot the snot out of 12 gauge number 8 target load Rios. No complaints. Like that they had a brass base.
I have shot thousands of them (12GA) at the trap range. The price point is usually right, and I prefer them over some available options.

Years back, we bought 10 cases of Rio Shot Shells for an informal Trap, Skeet and Sporting Clays match held up at our Hunting Cabin. Hey, they were cheap! Most of us used our Hunting Guns and almost all of us had multiple Shotguns on that week long trip.
Rio Shells worked fine in most of our Shot Guns but we did have an issue with them not extracting properly in our semi autos. The folded crimps on the head were not sharp or crisp and the extractors rolled off too soon. This was not the fault of the Shotguns (3 separate guns ) because as soon as we switched back to our normal Federal, Remington or Winchester fodder at that time, all worked perfectly.
Could have been a bad run from worn out Dies, they more than likely have resolved the issue by now, however after that trip we never bought that brand again.
When I purchase Target Loads now I open a box to make sure the bends are crisp and the extractors will grab properly (check with fingernail). Since doing that I haven't had any issues with SA Shotguns but again, haven't tried Rio brand since.
Just wanted to give you guys the heads up - check the crimps with your fingernail if you are using semi auto's. Other than that issue, they worked OK.

I haven't shot Rio bird shot but did test several boxes of 00 Buck and #4 Buck. They open up really fast, I was barely able to have all the buckshot stay on a full size silhouette target at 15 yards.

larger dia. primers , from the std. US 209 size and the wads must also be of the larger diam. to fit the hull..........
plus you need the correct powder in volume/density to go above the plastic base wad for some wads to work and some powders that will not be over pressure, in order to do this.
Some load the Rio hull.......

I haven't used them but I do know that Walmart carries them in 16 ga.
