RIP Glen Campbell

His family made a documentary about his last tour. It was a rollercoaster ride. Another great entertainer gone, but the truth is he was gone before he died. Very sad way to go.

Gentle on My Mind....classic. Galveston, Wichita Lineman, Try a Little Kindness...same notation. You fought the good battle, Glen.

He will be missed. Didn't he work with the Wrecking Crew?

From an obit I just read: "By 1962 had solidified a spot in the Wrecking Crew, a group of session pros. In 1963 alone, he appeared on 586 cuts and countless more throughout the decade, including the Byrds' "Mr. Tambourine Man," Elvis Presley's "Viva Las Vegas,” Merle Haggard's "Mama Tried" and the Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling.""

That's amazing....

Just mentioning those songs takes me back because they were solidly placed in the times. Oh, and Galveston.

Does ANYBODY here remember 'Captain Swell' shorts from his show??? He was like Dudley Do-Right made up to look like Rudolph Valentino. He was always pursued by this bandito character with a knife in his teeth and his gunbelt around his knees. I can't find ANY reference to it.

He was a GREAT guitar player. Was able to see him preform live when over I left feeling good, great man. R.I.P. Mr. Campbell you will be missed.
