WW II veteran and Atlanta area business man S. Truett Cathy died this morning, age 93. In 1946 he founded a small restaurant in Hapeville, GA called the Dwarf Grill due to it's small size. He opened a second restaurant here in Forest Park called the Dwarf House which eventually became the name his first restaurant also. His restaurants are never open on Sunday as he felt it should be a day for family. In the 1960's a new mall was being built and he asked to put a food shop in the mall. Despite skepticism by the mall owners, it was agreed to allow him to put a store in the mall. He named the shop after the signature sandwich from his Dwarf Houses. That sandwich was called the Chick-fil-A. Despite his wealth (6bil), Mr. Truett as he was known locally taught Sunday School for 50 years. RIP Mr. Truett, you were truly an honorable man.
