RIP Stephen A. Camp

As others have stated, a true gentleman that set a high standard for internet behavior and willingly shared a wealth of knowledge.
We are all diminished.
Condolences to his family and friends, and Godspeed.

I have the utmost respect for Stephen and his very professional work. I will miss him greatly.

My sympathy to his family, and prayers for strength to face their loss.

As a follow-up to my earlier post, my copy of Steve's Airweight J-Frame book arrived today; he'd mailed it the day before he passed. Not only had he autographed the book, as requested, but he took the time to write a very kind inscription. I was both flattered and humbled.

He was truly a gentleman of the highest order. I only wish I'd had the pleasure of meeting him in person.

My Search for a Hi-Power

Earlier this year my search for a Hi-Power as another of a
'My Must Have Before I die' pistol lead me to his book
on the Browning.... Got the book first with a nice personal
inscription and a wealth of info to guide my selection..
It is obvious by his writing what kind of very knowlegeable
'gun guy' he was as well as a True Gentleman..
A Great 'Gunny' Passes..Rest in Peace Mr. Camp....

Wow. So sorry to hear of Mr. Camp's passing. Have enjoyed his posts here, on his own site and on others. Condolences to his family.

A sad day. While I didn't know him personally, I feel that I did. Before I bought my first handgun I bought his book on choosing the best defensive weapon (which ultimately led me to start buying S&W revolvers). Then he was kind enough to answer some of my followup questions via email. He was indeed a gentleman and a model for us all.

I've been off the grid for about a month, and just learned this lousy news today. RIP, Mr. Camp. Your gentlemanly manner and knowledge will be missed.

Steven A. Camp has "left the range"

If this has been posted before, I am sorry. In case some of the members/readers, like me, have missed it, apparently fellow member Steven A. Camp passed away 5/27. I do not spend much time on other gun forums, so this was news to me. (I happened to see it on the 1911 forum.)

I always enjoyed Mr. Camp's gentlemanly writing and admired the thoroughness he seemed to try to bring to his presentations.
