Ripped cases

Picked up couple ripped cases at the range today (not mine :D ). Never seen anything like it. What could have caused such damage, extractor ? They look like factory cases...

Those jammed in the ejection port.That's what the 'V' shaped slice & dent marks are.
The very first roundIi ever shot out of my 1911A1 many, many years ago hung up like that and peeled a curl right down the side of the case about 3/16 or so of an inch. Looked like a freekin' scuplture. I still have it sitting on a shelf.
 
Thanks, oberon, now that you told - it all makes sense and seems kind of obvious :)
 
And judging from the drag marks on the primer, I wonder if it the shooter's pistol may have been coming out of battery a bit early (which could be related to the case hitting the ejection port. Seems like a little "tuning" could be in order.
 
It doesn't look like a Glock. Any guess to the make of the pistol? Looks like it has an oval-shaped firing pin channel.
 
No clue, haven't seen who was shooting, I just grabbed all the brass around :D
