Can anyone suggest a target load for 9mm using a 124 gr RMR Hardcore Match Plated round nose along with Win 231 powder? Appreciate any suggestions!

Sure. From Sierra V (125gr bullets, COL=1.090"): 5 rounds each at 4.5, 4.7, 4.9, and 5.1 (max), fired from a rest at a decent distance. Compare for feed and cycle, recoil, ejection, and accuracy. Pick the one your firearm and you like best.

If you prefer softer, replace 5.1gr with 4.3gr.

If you aren't certain a 1.090" will feed in your firearm, make up 3 dummy rounds, and test via manual cycling. If they don't feed, play with the OAL until your pistol tells you it is happy.

Glad to see this too because Hodgdon/Winchester data online says 4.1-4.4 for the 124. 4.1 was way soft and did not eject with my wifes soft grip. It did for me. 4.3 ejected for her. I have not seen any data from Sierra - are they listing 4.5 for the starting load? I am using RMR 124 Match FN and Xtreme 124 FN.
Thanks

For 125 FMJ/1.090" & JHP/1.075" and 130gr FMJ/1.135": min = 3.9gr (900fps), max = 5.1gr (1150fps) from a 4" barrel.

Sierra and Hodgdon are known for their "Short" OAL data
so care is needed with this data due to the possibility of higher pressures.

My 9mm does not do well with 115 plated at 1.10" oal or the 124gr plated shorter than 1.12" oal.
A lot depends on what your pistol likes and will digest.

However I have had the 124gr Speer GD with a longer OAL fail to eject, so there is something to finding the correct oal for your weapon and loads.

I appreciate ALL the good tips and load information. I've used 115 gr RMR HardCore Match before, and I see by your posts the 124 gr version of this RMR bullet is right about the same load range of 231. I had good results with 115's at 4.6 gr of 231 and a COAL of 1.135. My gun chambered, fired and ejected just fine. I think I'll load a short test run of 124's with this same setup (4.6 gr 231 and 1.135") and see if my accuracy stays tight and my gun doesn't balk at the bullet change. THANKS!!
