Last year while in El Paso I went to Concordia cemetery.When I got back to my car after visiting John Wesley Hardins grave.There was a roadrunner standing on the roof of my car.He was watching over the cemetery from there and in no hurry to let me have my car back.

beep beeps have been coping with coyotes for thousands of years but are no match for a smart dog.
my old dog lorelei ate every one that came around.

Only thing I dislike about the chaparal is that they are kinda hard on the quail population. Eggs and small quail are on their diet in season. But they are interesting birds, and every thing has to eat!

the cool thing about beeps is they can assume the appearance of pets, tho they are not.
if one chooses to hang out at your place, he gets used to people moving about. he'll stay out of reach but won;t run off if you move slowly, doing chores.
they aren't afraid of gunfire.
i've had one watch me from the roof as i practiced , looking interested, from 20'/
