I have the Shield and I Really want to get the Warning off the side, and I would like to stay somewhat the stock look if possible. Anyone have any experience with Robar's Blacken Stainless? I am thinking the Shield slide is Melonite?

No experience with the blackend stainless, but I have used their Rogard finish as well as their NP3 finish. Both have held up through thousands of rounds and years of carry. And they both carry a lifetime warranty against peeling and flaking. Any problems, you send it back and they recoat it, no questions asked.

I would think the Rogard finish would suit the shield well.

Whatever finish you choose, I would make sure it has a good wear warranty. In the early 1980's, we used S&W model 66's with a "blackened" finish as duty weapons. Not sure what the finish was, but it did not hold up well to wear. Of course, modern finishes have improved significantly.
