Is there a chance of a Cape Buffalo with a 56 inch horn span?

I read about it in a story and think the author may have exceeded known examples.

I think it's very well possible, I've read they can grow over 60"

The photo is from Bush and Plains a book written by Ada and Laddy Wincza.

Laddy was an old east African PH, I met his wife Ada in 1985 and have their book beautifully personalized by Ada.

The female buffalo was the world record spread at the time, I need to look thru the book for the specifics

When I was younger I had thoughts of traveling to Afrika. My hunting was confined to SW GA deer hunting.
Loved reading about Corbett , Col Patterson, and the funny engrossing stories of Capstick.
My tangible remaining asset for those thoughts is my " I dreampt of Afrika " Magnum Mauser 300 dropbox Rifle.
