Roll Tide

And what about the Georgia guy trying to stick his finger in the Bama guy's eye?
Just saying.

That's different, dont'cha'know.

That's just good, hard-nosed football.

Our young scholar-athlete wasn't trying to do any permanent damage.
Your thug was trying to disable our QB.

That was wrong also. Any player taking a cheap shot at another player when it could lead to injury needs to sit out at least one game. Let's face it, the zebras were not in control of that game. There weren't any major fights or anything like that but it was not well officiated for either team. A few weeks ago the ACC announced the suspension of some officials from several different games for failing to properly officiate those games. One of the suspensions was for failing to maintain control of a game. If the SEC doesn't do that already, maybe they should look into it.

BTW, several reporters that cover the NFL after watching Dial's hit on Murray tweeted that would have cost him $25,000 in the NFL.

Good thing it is not like in the NFL, he can't afford that.
Quinton is a good kid that made a bad decision. For those that don't know he is a present day "The Blind Side" story. He lives with a white family that are members of our church because he had a terrible family life at home.
While I don't think he will have the success Micheal Oher had I do hope he takes advantage of his opportunity to get a college education while at UA.

Here is a good article about a couple of UA players from the past, and a UA coaching legend. I believe I recall reading an article back in the mid 70s or so that UA graduated a higher percentage of the athletes that they recruited than most any other school. I am not a UA fan, except when they are playing bowl games against non-SEC schools, but I have to respect their success, and I was always a Bear Bryant admirer.
Thankful brothers: Eddie, Woodrow say parents, 'Bear' Bryant helped mold them into strong Phenix City leaders | Richard Hyatt | Columbus Ledger Enquirer

Two of my favorite football jokes involve UA and Bear Bryant:

1) At one point in his career, Bryant broke a leg or hip. Official reports were that Bryant had slipped getting out of the shower. His detractors snickered that he was drunk and had fallen. True Tide believers knew that the real story was that The Bear was out on the lake early one Sunday morning walking his ducks and a motor boat ran over him.

2) In the 1984 Iron Bowl (UA v Auburn) Auburn trailed by one late in the game. Auburn was fourth and one on Alabama's one yard line. Instead of taking the Chip shot field goal and letting the defense take over, Pat Dye chose to go for it. The story is that Dye, a religious man, whispered a little prayer, "What to do?" A voice immediately came back . . . "Run Brent Fullwood off right tackle, Jackson blocking." Dye sent in the play, Fullwood was thrown for a loss when "wrong way Bo" blocked to the left rather than the right. Alabama ran the clock out, winning 17-15. As Dye ran off the field, he whispered another prayer . . . "Lord, why did you tell me to run that play?" A voice came back, "Pat, I just don't know. Bear, why did we tell him to do that?"

Ya'll remember that sissy Spider Man looking looking uniform UGA wore for one game last year? Never saw it again after that game. Who's idea was that and what happened to it? Was the designer burned at one of the pep rallies?

My understanding is they were basically forced to do it for one game by the supplier of the uniforms. I believe it was Nike.I agree they were bad. They looked like Power Rangers.

It was the SEC championship game and the zebras we're
just lettin' em' play football.
What's a little shot to the head or an eye gouge?
Everyone wants to turn the game into flag football.
It's a contact sport and the NFL is turning into "Dancin'
with the Stars". I hope they don't do the same to the college
game. If the kids want to figure skate, or do the syncronized
swimming thing they can. Just try making a living doing that.
The NFL and major college football have made a killing off
of big hits and dazzling passes/runs. To fine a player or make
them sit out a game is hypocritical at best. The refs did'nt see
it or call it (move on).

I'm a Georgia fan who's pulling for all of the SEC teams. It makes us look good when we stomp all the other conference teams or poke their eyes. Lol!
