The wife and I spent the afternoon on the couch together.......filling out our Living Wills and Medical Power of Attorneys.

We made each other our primary representative. In trying to understand the terminology and each other's wishes, we began questioning the other for understanding. It soon deteriorated to "why the heck do you want that?" "Your aren't going to know the difference anyway. "Don't worry I won"t let you linger, I'll pull it real quick." "I might not even wait for the doctor."

We are now to the point where we are both afraid to get sick. The first one to get a cold is a gonner.

It does make you set back and take another look at the old gal a bit don't it.:D

I had a woman liveing with me years ago. Originaly she moved in as a nanny for my daughter as I was fighting for custody. Never really got it.
As I had a 4 bedroom house it worked out for us both, kind of. She got cancer, had no insurance. She begged to come home towards the end. She died at home with me. I called 911 and they hooked her up and took her to the hospital. The doctor there asked me if he should pull the plug. I said I cant legaly tell you. She had no one else but me. She was a divorcee from england with no kids or family.
The doctor said he would do what I said. He assured me their was no hope of her regaining conscious etc. It was a hard decision. It was only about 4 hours before that, that she told me "I am going to beat this!

It's great that you can find humor in a serious subject. That topic is one that every couple should discuss, sooner rather than later.

I had to call my wife over to read this. We both thought it was hilarious!

My ex-wife moved out in '96 on Valentines day. Officially divorced June 4, 1996. I can still remember that day like it was yesterday. What a mess!

When hope is gone, the final act of true love is letting go.
