Dave Galloway, Ronin Leather Holsters custom makes fantastic leather holsters. The pictured OWB was made for my Dan Wesson DWX compact. The holster fits perfectly and pulls the gun to my waist, minimizing the printing of a fairly large frame gun. Very comfortable and very good looking with elephant hide trim, Dave bought a large supple of elephant hide which wears forever. I have an elephant hide briefcase cartridge slides, bino cases from the 80’s and the hide is still like new, much superior to horse or cow hide with a unique look.
I have been concealed carrying for some 35 years and plan on having more Ronin’s made for my other carry guns, it’s that much better made and feeling than my other high-end makers and I own holsters from most of them.

How fun. Your holster is very nicely made, workmanship wise.

You know of course that the elephant hide has been used only as a cosmetic layer stitched (hopefully glued, too) to the cowhide that forms the bulk of this holster. The elephant will do nothing for durability of gunleather, these are for 'pretty' only.

You'd've like it even better if it had been sculpted to carry an inch higher (mag button just above the belt edge). That way the bulkiest part of any pistol is in the hollow at the waist, assuming one has such a hollow (not everyone does). And then the big mags don't cause the pistol to sag outwards in which case your next post will be, "where can I get a 'good' gunbelt?" which is also a myth.

The good news: your chap has configured this holster at the ideal carry angle of 24 degrees negative, that has been used since the Brill of 1905 for the Texas Rangers and then in the Threepersons by Myres for the FBI of the 1930s.

I have a snap on model for my K6s 3" and am very pleased with it. He makes a nice holster and is wiling to work with you on angel, ride height, size of sweat shild and other design features you may want. I also have an IWB from the earlier company "Little Bear" for a 396 Night Guard that works very well.
