We picked these up in a junk box at a gunshop some time ago.

They fit an N Frame Smith & Wesson revolver perfectly.

Can any of you perhaps date these by the type, and location of the medallions, and grip screw estructions (lousy spelling), and the fact that they are even with the wood?

Has anyone ever seen another set like this?

Thanks for looking.

I have seen them for K, N, and J frames.
My GUESS is 60's.

I've got a set for a K. Pretty wood. And mine are also "PC" (just to irritate Lee, who will post back and demand we call them modified magna's.)

Not me. I don't type. PC is what I say. Also say 'grips'. One letter less that 'stocks'.

I dont think those are Rosewood, they look like walnut to me. Look at the last post above mine, look at the grain, those look like rosewood. All the S&W Rosewood grips I have had or seen have a dense close grain and are more redish than you oictured grips. Also have the bottom edges of your been rounded over? Maybe the whole grips have been refinished, they just dont look right to me.

smith17...your stocks are definitely rosewood. I think the other stocks posted are made of Goncalo alves.

I agree with Bill that RobbaBobba's set are Goncalo alves ! They appear to be well oiled and that gives the dark color on the outer surface. To me the inner surface has all of the typical Goncalo characteristics.
