Rarer than other barrel lengths but what’s a general $$?
When did they stop making the 6.5” 27?
Thanks

These were made in small numbers in the 27-2 era, lI suspect as a parts cleanup. The price sounds high to me.
My N prefix 27-2 shipped in 1970 or so. When I bought it I thought I was settling for a run-of-the-mill 6" barrel but a forum member pointed out the true length. Nice when things work out in your favor!

According to the "SCSW 4th Ed.", S&W discontinued the 6-1/2" bbl. for the Model 27-2 in 1967 (the 3-1/2" and 5" bbls. were discontinued in 1979). I think the value would be $1600+ (there is a slight premium for 6-1/2" bbl.), and maybe $1800 with presentation and goodies. Gotta love the .357s and Model 27s! I'd like to add a 5" and 6-1/2" Model 27 to my modest collection.
