Round-butting a K-frame

The more I stare at the attached photo, the more I think this is a rebarrel. Not really an issue for me if I get it at the right price, as I still like the look.

Something is way off, the frame is definately not a snub frame, the barrel rib should be much taller .
I'm thinking the modern snub barrels may have a lower rib.
Compare your pic to the one in post 33 by viceunit above where the barrel rib meets the frame top strap, his fits perfect ( notice the frame doesnt step down) yours is way off.

Agreed. I'm going to walk away from this one.

Seeing the Patridge front sight leads me to think the 19 was barreled to meet the specs for an "Off-Duty Revolver" for the PPC Off-Duty Match. I have a 66 that I did the same to.
KAC

I think you may have hit on something with this particular gun. Check out the grips on it. I think these are older Hogue extended grips used for prone shooting. I used to put Hogue extended wood grips on my NRA Action guns. I think someone did the work on this gun with competition in mind.

I'm definitely out on this one. I don't mind customized guns, as I have plenty of them. But I want to do the work myself or know who's done it for me.
