Well another year completed. I just got done logging today's activities into the records. This year I shot 18,627 rounds. More then last year (14,228) but less then the year before (20,731).

Looking over the stats, I shot a lot of 12 gauge this year, (2,300 rounds), then 357 Magnum (1,617 rounds), 357 Sig (1,397 rounds) and 10mm (1,651 rounds). I also got back into the 38 Super with 1,379 rounds fired. 380 was shot a lot also (1,756 rounds).

I did not take a single shot of 44/40 or 30 carbine nor 30/30 this year. I guess I need to get to the rifle range more!

I did get 96 rounds of blackpowder shot though. One good range session with the Walker.

Well, next year i will have to make an effort to try and shoot more variety and hit everything caliber at least once.

So how was your year? Which caliber did you shoot the most?

Don't keep a record but from looking at the bank account it must have been quite a few. Guess this year was dominated by 45acp.

Not sure..I run the mobile range 2 days a week every month and usually shoot about 100 rounds of 9mm, 100 rounds of 38 and about 50 rounds of .45. Some day I will add all that up and figure out my average amount of rounds for the year.

Not near as much as usual. I had cataract sugery in the Fall and prior to that I had trouble seeing front sights clearly. I did spend some time at the range today sighting in a rifle. Now that I can see again I plan on shooting a lot more next year.

This is a sad post for me to write. Since I moved to Surry County in NC two years ago, I haven't been able to find a place I like to shoot at. I guess most people here have their own land to shoot on, and there isn't much demand for a public or private range. Too bad I'm not more outgoing. :) There is one range near Elkin NC, but it's not my cup of tea for several reasons. I've emailed the Forest Service in NC & VA asking if they have any locations nearby, but have never received a reply. I've only been able to shoot twice in the past year, and it is causing me to think of offloading most of my firearms.

I must be lazy, because the various hassles in that endeavor have kept me from going forward with that plan.

At least they don't eat. :o

I only got about 3000 this year, almost all .38 special. A few hundered total of .357, .44 mag, .45 acp and some .22. I always commit to more each year, but it seems little progress has been made. Need to shoot some more cowboy, too!

What a way to spend New Year's Eve! At least I'm not the only one that does this...

Slow year:

45 ACP.....1119 in autos
45 ACP.......647 in revolvers
45 AR.......1006
44SPL..........98
9x19.........2017
38 SPL........211
22LR.........1519 (All in K-22s I sold my Officer's Model Match last yr)

And, like most of the rest of you, an unknown number in the "Dude, you want to put a few round through it?" catagory.

I don't keep track of rounds through long arms. Call it 200 centerfire, mainly 7-08, 308, and 30'06.

Not much by some standards here:
About 1500 rounds each of 38 Special, mostly wadcuters, 9mm P and 45. Practically all with cast bullets. One of my new year's resolutions is to burn more powder.

I seem to shoot less each year. I go to the range the same number of times, but less lead gets thrown down the lane. My high record was 4,084 rounds in 2005, but in 2010, just 1,174 went out the pipe. I'll try to do better next year - I promise.:D

Interesting thread but I guess my question is why count?

For me, well, I shoot a lot. Most of my shooting is competitive and keeping a round tally on my guns helps me gauge wear or consider replacement.

2010, I shot much less practice and more matches so my round count was a little lower - a little over 10,000 wadcutters and almost the same number of 9mm plus about 2,000 158 SWC.

Four qualifications for two handguns accounts for another 1,200 .40 S&W, plus the UMP40 qual adds on another 200, so 1,400 total .40 S&W. Then we can add on the .223 rounds for my M4 quals and throw in some 12 ga for the shotgun quals.

I don't track my rounds for my other handguns but I shot a bunch of .45 ACP, .45 Colt, .44 Mag and Special, .41 Mag, .357 Mag and finally .22.

I can safely say I pulled the trigger 30,000 times in 2010 (not counting dry fire) and I'll start 2011 off on the 2nd running a couple boxes of .38 Super since I finally made some ammo to run through the 1943 Llama .38 Super I've had for a while.

I shot a fat whopping ZERO rounds in 2010!!! I've been surrounded by GI's who only get to shoot one a year to verify sights are set properly.

I have fired about 300 rds. of .38 Special, 100 rds. of .357 S&W Magnum, 1,200 rds. of .45 ACP... 2,000 rds. of .40 S&W... and I estimate about 4,000 .22 LR rounds... the vast majority being fired in my Ruger Mk. II. In rifle I have fired about 1,000 .30-06 rounds of handloaded .30-06 target loads in my Remington made 1903 and 400 rds of M-2 ball in my beloved Springfield 5.9 million M-1 Garand and maybe 200-300 rds. in my COLT Hbar.

This coming year I will first about the same amount of .30-06 and M-2 ball with an increase in the amount of 5.56mm ammo. I will not likely be firing as much .45 ACP or .40 S&W. I anticipate shooting a lot more .38 Special and .357 S&W Magnum, in fact I'm certain of it. I also expect that I will be firing at least the same amount of .22 LR, although given my current interest, this is likely to also increase, especially if one or more of my daughters are able to visit on a more frequent basis.

.45ACP has been scarce in my area, so I shot a lot of 9mm and .38 special with a little .22LR and .357 magnum to spice things up a bit. I don't keep a log but estimate between 5000-6000 total rounds downrange last year.
