My dad was a fan, so I grew up listening to him, and have always liked him. Certainly one of the best pickers in country music. And, he was funny!

I saw him at the Oregon State Fair in 1985, and he put on a great show.

I used to see him on Hee Haw during its original run, and now I watch Hee Haw on the RFD TV channel. I became really amazed watching how good he was playing guitar, banjo and fiddle. Roy Clark was an incredible talent.

I don't think there is an instrument with strings he could not play. Once saw him play the Baliliaki. Don't recall ever seeing him play the Sitar but would not surprise me if he could. I watch Hee Haw reguraly now on RFD-TV on Sunday nights @8 eastern. Loved to hear him play for the Gospel Quartet. He was a great talent in more ways that one.

Yep, Roy was also a good pilot, I believe he flew a Mitsubishi Mu-2 Marquise,,, I like that cause I had a few hours in the right seat of a Mitsubishi, damn thing scared the krap out of me!

yep, and killed my Buddy about two weeks after the last time we flew together haulin checks and film for Midnight Mitsubishi, out of Oklahoma....

He was one in a million, a real talent, and a fine Christian Man! RIP Roy

I met Roy Clark at the National Stearman Fly In at Galesburg Illinois in 1989. Roy had a very nice Stearman bi-plane. He was a very pleasant, and patient, man. No matter how many people came up to him he was always polite and generous with his time. I spoke with him briefly while we were waiting out a down pour in the Dusters and Sprayers hanger. We discussed the lousy weather, Stearmans, and my starting flying lessons. He was a genuinely nice, down to earth guy. I'm sorry to hear that he's gone.

Awesome, I've got a real love of the Stearman, I had my first loop, roll, and snap roll many moons ago in a Stearman with an older gentleman whom I helped wash his airplane..

I had no idea Roy was a Stearman man, in fact I have camped overnight in Galesburg in a tent under the wing of a 172 and flew up to the "aerobatic contest" at Monmouth, Il. Small world

I'm flying my little brothers new/old 1968 Cessna Cardinal later this morning hopefully, Happy Thanksgiving!

He will be missed.

Being a guitarist (actually, a guitar picker) I loved listening to Roy Clark and the dizzying speed at which he could play. I'm so sorry to learn of his passing. I feel like a friend has passed away although I never met him.

I remember that Roy Clark could play the banjo like nobody else. I always enjoyed watching him on “Hee-Haw”. So long Roy.
