Curtis,

I be glad to throw in on this karme. I would do one of the three pictured, either the 2nd Model .44 HE (with incorrect grips) or one of the two Regulation Police (one in .32 the other in .38 S&W). I'll have till you draw to decide.

In the same spirit as was posted previously, I will do the same when I hit the 1500 mark.

Very generous offer!

I've read, on this forum, that there were only 171 Model 60-1's, made in 1972, that came with 3" barrels & square-butt frames. But have yet to see a letter on one. Maybe I could post the first?

This was my father in law's pre Model 27. It is my son's now and a letter would be very cool. I always wanted to get his Grandfather's gun lettered for him. Nice karma.

With a very generous offer like this I MUST play. Here is my pre-Md 27 that I was told will letter to my birth year AND month-Jan 1955. I have a 1 in 31 chance of it being the 30th. I have been meaning to letter it but have not gotten off my lazy butt yet. Thanks for the chance to win something.

Well y'all have really brought out some nice ones, and I appreciate those of you who are going to do the same at 1500 (I am holding you to that)

JHE888 THAT is a pre-27 even I would own and normally they dont do much for me.

We are all having a good time here and I really look forward to seeing someones letter, but lets not forget our brother DanM who has suffered a terrible setback.
I beseech all of you good people here to do what you can in way of donation to help Dan and his son. Trust me as I have been there, even $5 or $10 can be a big help.

I'll throw my latest prize in - a 7" RM just because I like posting the photos of this gun.

I'm Johnny Come Lately on this one as Curtis has only 8 more posts to go; but I got the camera out and took a picture anyway.

An additional entry for your very generous offer. This is a clearly marked 629-2 yet I cannot find any reference in SCSW to one so marked in 3" RB. Serial Number (BBW) places it in late 88 - early 89 yet the Lew Horton run of 3 inch "Combat Magnums" marked 629-1 were years earlier (1985). Engraving may be factory but unsigned so can't tell for sure. A true mystery in need of a letter. Thanks for the opportunity...

Curtis,

Congratulations on your upcoming milestone.

Please include my very first S&W, purchased new in October 1966 - an early Model 36-1, s/n 456212.

SCSW-3rd reports that the 36-1 was introduced in 1967, so I may have one of the first produced. Purchased it in Washington, D.C. while on active duty. It was my constant companion for a year while serving in Viet Nam, and currently serves as my concealed carry ... so we're pretty "close"

Thanks for a wonderful karma,

Curtis,
This is a great idea for a give-a-way. Way to go! Hope to see you on the 30th of May!
