I have developed rub marks on my FS9 slide, and i know its nothing, but i was wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of the little marks? I tried to rub them out with gun oil but i dont think im making any headway. Ideas/products would be appericated.

Thanks!

Without pictures and a little better description of how they happened, we can't help you. What you consider a "rub" might be a scratch to someone else.

The Melonite finish on the S&W's will wear, but it takes some doing. Try bore solvent to make sure that it's just not something on the finish. If it doesn't come off, accept it as character marks.

No, i know they are from my holsters. I have a crossbreed IWB and blackhawk Serpa Level 2 and 3 OWB. I kinda like the sound of Character Marks...

Not exactly twins...

...but can you tell which is my favorite?

Yes, hard earned character. Be proud of those marks. Most of the shooting world doesn't use their gun as much as you do.

But an identical gun , lock into your safe , and will it to your grandchildren.

Other than that , anything that gets fired OR holstered will have some degree of cosmetic wear.
