Rubber grips

The only gun I own with "Rubber" grips is my Model 69. Reason? That's the one I carry in the woods and is exposed to all kinds of weather and conditions.

The rest of my ladies all have very nice shoes. :)

Do like wood on my revolvers but I do like UM rubber boot grips on my 642 and model 10 for when they might get a little beat up. Pachmayr Compac's are nice as well for J-frames.

pachmayr presentation grips (small size) work well for me on most of my S&W revolvers.....but I prefer a hogue grip on my S&W 686-4PP....

What I do not understand is why no one is making a rubber grip for the palm swell area of the grip? Hogue makes one for the J frame but why not put some softer material there so it can absorb the recoil? I would use some kind of silicone gel. I shoot my 44 and it kills my hands. I do not shoot it often just a few rounds a couple of times a year. I also wish they made more grips without the finger groves. Some grips fit just right others make my fingers crunch up.

I like the looks of the wood grips much better. As far as shooting I have a 28-2 N frame that shoots 357 fine with wood grips. I also have a 65-3 K frame that will make you pay some for shooting 357 with the wood grips. I don't shoot 357's through the K frame most days so it is not an issue but if I was going to I would put the rubber grip on it before I did so.

Wood grips that fit your hand correctly aren't going to (well certainly shouldn't) beat up your hand with 357's and a mid size/full size framed revolver. I've had rubber grips that didn't fit my hand beat me up more than proper fitting non rubber grips.

Is that a fiber optic rear sight on the top pic?

Yes, these are hand made. I bought a couple sets from Cylinder and Slide but they get $100. I cant justify the cost because I put them on all the guns I might need to get a shot off fast. My eyes don't focus close and my arms wont stretch out far enough anymore. By the time I get my head tilted back far enough to see the sights clear with these progressive lenses too much time has passed by.

This is a top view of a different gun with C&S.

This one is a 625 with hand made.

My EDC carry guns have Crimson Trace also. Any edge might make a difference.

I LOVE WOODEN GRIPS, AND I USE AHRENDS ON MY REVOLVERS. FOR PROTECTION OF THE GRIPS AND THE GUN DURING TIMES OF PLANNED HARD USE--WHILE FISHING, CAMPING, HUNTING IN BAD TERRAIN, NASTY WEATHER, ETC--I SUBSTITUTE A SET OF PACHMAYR PRESENTATION , OR COMPAC GRIPS, DEPENDING ON THE LENGTH OF THE BARREL. IMHO, THEY ARE ATTRACTIVE AND FUNCIONAL……….

Well, tight fitting jeans look good on women, but rubber grips just don't compare on a revolver. They need wood.

At times, Ruger had the best of both worlds with the rubber grips with wood inserts and no finger grooves on their SP100 and SP101 models.
Wish some one made that style for S&W.
I have them on a Super Red Hawk in .44 magnum and I like them much more than the Hogue tamers.
