Always thought these were handy little carbines.
Ruger made a jillion of em I reckon.
Thought this one was kinda neat.

They're great little guns. Everybody ought to have at least one. I gave my wife a 1022 Sporter for her graduation present from college when we were still dating over 40 years ago.

The 1022, in my opinion, is the Mr. Potato Head of .22's...kinda like the model 1911 is the Mr. Potato Head of pistols. I mean, there are so many different things you can put on 'em. I just added a Volquartsen trigger assembly to one of mine. I know, I know...it's like putting a $40 saddle on a $5 horse, but, what the heck...it's a dream to shoot.:)

Xfuzz:
I have one very close to yours. Might be the same if the pic made the
stock look lighter.

Also have a standard one I got for $79 years ago. It's been
stocked with a laminated red, white and blue Fajen stock, and had a
scope put on. I call it "The Patriotic Rifle."

That's about what I paid for this one originally back in the mid 80's. I've accessorized it into my 10/22 'Possum Slayer and I had as much fun customizing it as I do shooting it.

Great looking 1022 XFuzz and totally illegal for sale after 4/15/13 in New York! The 10 round rotary mag and anything else currently available on the market exceeds our "progressive" (his word, not mine) Gov's 7 round maximum mag. limit. No grandfathering for mags above 10 rounders as of it's signing date back in January. All are illegal to have, even pre-bans. He has "allowed" us to keep our current 10 rounders, just not loaded beyond 7 +1 rounds (on your honor).

Any guns in inventory at NY gun stores on 4/15/13 with mag that exceed the 7 rounds will be sold without magazines! Any guns that break "other restrictions" must be sold out-of-state.

Faulkner, forget about it! Yours is illegal on about every level known to man in our once great state. Hi cap mag, flash suppressor, pistol grip, folding stock and I think, just 'cause it's black. But hey, I like it!

Enjoy your freedoms and don't take them for granted.

That's a Wally World special. I bought one of those years ago just because I liked the manlicher laminate stock on the stainless steel. Now, alas my son has claimed it as his'n. When I bought it, he was about 7-8 and I told my wife "It was for the boy" and he held me to it. :D

I did not particularly care for these until Ruger introduced the Take-Down model. I bought three of these over the last few months.

GREAT little carbines! Have an old one with a walnut stock
and no "stinkin warnings" on the bbl. Great shooter!

I've got a couple and they are a blast to shoot.
Nothing like throwing one over your shoulder for
a good woods hike and river shoot. Everybody
should own at least one of these fun little iconic
carbines. Plus it's about the only rifle i can afford
to shoot right now. haha

Got one of those Talo Classic models with the french walnut stock. I installed a Geen Mountain target grade sporter barrel and Clark Custom reworked trigger assembly. Shoots 1/2" five shot groups at 50 yds. It has become one of my favorite rifles.

Picked this up month ago only shot 5 rounds through it so far waiting to site it in outside

I'm like Joe! What is that 4" beauty with the diamond grips and why ain't you bought that?
f.t.

p.s. Do the prop rods come with a purchase? :D

Handguns are mine....pic taken in my place.
My old shop which the girls now call the "cave".
The shop portion of my building I left pretty much the same.
Back of the building(1500sqft) is now living quarters.

Turned out pretty good.
Like to say it was my idea but it was the wifes. The decorator.
We downsized a bit...sold the lakehouse the place in the city.
Big motorhome was sold.
Kept this commercial building and the beach house.
We like it very much.
How many guys get the live in a former gun shop ??

Gonna have to disagree with ya there, Hoss. :D

I settled for just the Volqs hammer kit and the difference was delightful. I can only imagine what the whole assembly would be like.
