Ruger 10-22....

Ya'll mention "Wally World" specials I assume you mean
Walmart sells this type of Ruger.
I picked this up NIB at a pawn shop while makin an ammo run.
Don't know how he does it but this particulair shop nearly always
has ammo.

He may have been blowin smoke but he stated that there was a run
on Ruger 10-22's during the panic. Who woulda thunk.

I'm not sure if they do it anymore, but Wal-Mart has over the years ordered a number of exclusives that were only available through Wal-Mart, at least for a period of time. The term "Wally World Special" generally means the model with the 22" stainless barrel, and checkered "DSP style" stock (The true DSP stock is in walnut). The others might be "Wally World Specials" but that one is THE Wally World Special.

And no. There is no major differences other than things like barrel length, stock material, stock color, etc. I believe they all had stainless steel barrels though.

I think I've always had a 10-22 (or two) in my rimfire arsenal!:D

I had a mannlicher carbine version for awhile, bought it at Wal-Mart for $209.

My current Ruger has just went through a transformation. I bought a Butler Creek folding stock for that mannlicher rifle and kept it when I traded it off. To be honest, I didn't like the look of a folding stock or the 30 round mag on a Ruger 10-22.
But with all the bull going on about what Americans can have and what they can't, I dug both outta' the parts cave and did this -

Indiana is (so far) a free state so I'll keep this one like it is.:)

Hey! Did u get the stuff i sent you?

I love 10/22s. Here's one I've had since i was 10 (25 years ago) that i just redid. Saw all the wood stocks and scopes in this thread so i thought id change it up.

Mine is a jumble of parts.. A 2000 stainless Wally World, but using
a blued 16 inch sporter barrel, and have been using an Evil Black rifle
stock. Have a Simmons scope on it right now, but have about three to
choose from. Mine has had the Power Custom trigger job, parts,
bolt buffer, etc, etc.. The trigger is great on it, but I'm not overly
thrilled with the barrel. It's needs to be re-worked, or slap something
better on it.
It's very light.. My Ruger Air Hawk pellet gun is much heavier than the
10/22 with that plastic stock on it..
.22 ammo has been scarce around here lately. Or at least at the Wally
Worlds and such.

I've been looking for a TD the past three weeks. No one seems to have any in stock.

I bought one (stainless) from a LGS in June before the rush for $380. I bought the last one he had. Even then before the recent rush they were hard to find in stock. This is not the cheapest shop here in Houston.

End Jan I walked into another LGS and found one of the tactical models for $400. The dealer told me he received 20 the day before and I bought the last one he had.

End Feb I found another stainless at Bass Pro for $330.

I never went looking especially for one; just got lucky. If you keep looking you will find one. Last week I was in the same shop where I bought the tactical and they had at least one stainless which I saw being sold when I was there.

I used to have a couple got rid of them for one reason or another. But seeing all those pretty rimfires makes me want to get a new one.

I've had this one for quite awhile.....pretty straight shooter :)
