Ruger 17 HMR Single Six

After shooting my friends .17 Bolt Rifle (CZ) I would never buy a gun in that caliber!

First off they are quite noisy. Secondly, ammo is much more expensive than .22's are and harder to find in some stores. Last but not least, when target shooting at any appreciable distance you can not see the holes that the little tiny pointed bullets make in paper or card board. I can not even see the holes with a Leupold Spotting Scope! NOPE - not interested in a .17 caliber gun of any configuration. YMMV :)

I lusted for one about 10 years back. As I recall , folks on another major dedicated "Central Rimfire Forum " were complaining of excessive fouling and marginal accuracy in the 17 cal single six's. I ended up backing off.

That may/may not have been cured by now in current production guns but have to agree that I've had fouling issues in every 22 mag ( parent cartridge to the 17 HMR) chambered handgun I've owned.
I'd google ( the bracketed words above) to find those discussions again.
Let us know what you find if you take the plunge.
