I've always been a huge fan of case coloring on guns, just believe it looks good and isn't something you really see much anymore outside of like cowboy action shooting. I decided I wanted an LC9 as a small carry gun and lucky enough for me Turnbull Restoration in NY will case color the LC9 and a couple other Ruger guns. So after buying my little LC9, it was quickly disassembled and the slide on it's way to NY for a new finish. Two days ago a box was waiting for me. I couldn't be happier with the results.

I wonder in they can do that to my Shield being that it has a stainless slide under that black coating. If they can,I'll bet more than one shiels finds it's way up there!!!
BTW ,if I may be crass, how much did that set you back??? (You KNEW you were gonna be asked that when you posted it didn't you?:D)

They have a standing (as for now) offer if you send them the slide of the Ruger LC9 they'll color case harden it for $100. Maybe they have something worked out with Ruger?

Love color case hardening, but never in my wildest dreams would have contemplated doing it to an LC9, then again I've never contemplated owning an LC9.

Nonetheless it looks good

That looks great !

I don't think they can color case harden stainless, but I could be wrong.

I had my hands on one of these the other day...beautiful piece, WAY out of my price range....

Don't know if they do it, but it can be done. Read an article in a gun magazine about a guy out west that does it on a daily basis. He says it comes out with a more "muted, softer" appearance than steel, but doable.
