Ruger Max 9

I bought one a week or so after they came out, and have fired over 500 rounds without issue. It has a 1-2" high POI at 7-10 yards regardless of bullet weight, and although accuracy is acceptable, it prefers 147 grain to be its best. Initially I wasn't too crazy about how it felt somewhat loose in the hand, but since adding an inner tube grip sleeve it's been perfect. I added a Romeo-Zero RD to it recently and really like the way the slide shape allows for co-witness with the stock sights. The trigger is much better than other Ruger pistols and feels similar to the Shield 45 with a bit more travel before the break. Pull weight is consistently 4-3/4 pounds.

I bought one at the end of March and really like it a lot. I put the Sig Romeo Zero on it as well and enjoyed shooting it until the glass fell out of the red dot last weekend. Sig is sending me a replacement.

The Max 9 fits well in a pocket holster too. Without the red dot it will fit a pocket holster for the LC9s. The other thing I really like about the Max 9 is that it is much more comfortable to shoot than my LC9s. And it seems to have a smaller footprint than the Shield or Shield plus. I also really like the fiber optic and tritium front sight that comes standard, and the fact that the Max 9 is also standard with the optics cut on the slide.

Thanks guys, I bought one about a month ago and like it except
for the trigger. I t has what I think is the worst trigger of any
hand gun I've ever had. After take up, the creep is horrible.
I had a LC9s that was a pleasure to shoot, and was very accurate.
I"m having a very hard time learning how to shoot this pistol.
I've been dry firing it and it seems to be smoothing out some.
Been thinking about getting a Galloway short stroke trigger. but
not to sure about the legal aspect that might apply if I were to
be in a shooting.

... The other thing I really like about the Max 9 is that it is much more comfortable to shoot than my LC9s. ...

Is the butt just a little wider? I have bony hands and even a Hogue grip has not fixed the LC9s for me. I find the Kahr CW9 and Walther PPSM2 much more comfortable to shoot.

It's not much wider. I had a Hogue sleeve on my LC9s and it
made it much better.

I have had one for about two months and really like it. It is about the same size as my Glock 43 with a plus 2 mag extension. The trigger is much better than the Glock. The take up is a little long but the break is very smooth. Recoil seems to be just a bit lighter than the Glock. The grip fills the hand more than the Glock. If I had to choose only one it would be a hard choice.

Bought my Max-9 2 weeks ago. Haven't been out shooting as we have red flag fire conditions here in Reno. Love the fit/finish and the ergos. The Shield Plus was a strong contender but price won out. Paid $450 for the Max-9 while the Shield Plus was going for $500. I had just enough $$$ to cover my costs without having to use the plastic.
