Ruger SP101 WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ruger revolvers

The first revolver I bought was a 4.2" blued GP100 357, followed by a 5"GP, 1967 Single Six 22lr and finally SP101 2.25" 357. I've experimented with Chig's grip inserts, Altamonts, Pachmayr and Hogues grips. Hi-Viz FO sights and hammer/hammer dog shims on both GPs. A Wolff 10# mainspring, hammer and hammer dog shims have taken the heavy SP trigger to light, smooth and reliable. I'd say the best additions I've made are the one's you can't see but definitely can feel.

I'll play along as I have 3 Rugers. My 2 favorite are my Mk III and my mini-14 and both of those are for target and varmint control. The one I carry as a "can't dress enough to cover" my regular EDC is an Lc9s.

May I just say that you have a very fine looking holster! Lobo Gun Leather IWB-Belt Loop Model featuring interchangeable belt loops (which can be had in different finish colors to coordinate with clothing, belts, etc). The belt loops are subjected to far more wear and tear in use than the holster bodies, and it occurred to me that allowing for the loops to be replaced as needed made a lot of sense.

Just one of the designs and features that resulted from my 43 years running the company, and passed along to the new owners when I retired.

Darn, I think I sprained my arm patting myself on the back!

I only have two Rugers, rock solid guns and love em. I did come across an SP101 357 just like yours for $450 OTD, good price? I resisted the "urge" and swore to myself, "no more gun purchases until my gun room is done," I did buy a nice watch though, but hey that's not a gun! lol

...I have two Super Blackhawks and a regular Blackhawk in 45 colt...

...also a Mini 14...

...I'd like to have a Ruger No. 1 ...

I fell in love with the Ruger No. 1 rifles in the early 1970's. My first was a standard #1 in .25-06. Next came a 7mm Rem Mag. My all time favorite hunting rifle came along in the form of a #1 Light Sporter .30-06.

They have all been extremely accurate just as delivered from Ruger. Many days of enjoyment at the range, many good hunting trips, no complaints of any kind.

Excellence!

We have a few Rugers. A standard 4.2” GP100 stainless in .357. It came with Hogues. Those were replaced pretty quickly with the classic rubber/wood insert grips. A SR1911. A stainless .357 Blackhawk that my FIL gave my wife for her birthday one year. She kept saying “Dad, don’t trade off the silver gun I like to shoot”. He didn’t, gave it to her instead. A M77 in 22-250 also from my FIL. It was his coyote rifle. And another M77, this one is a Manlicher full stocked RSI in .30-06 from my brother. He took an elk with it on his only elk trip.

Fair price

I think $450 OTD for a SP101 model 5720 (DAO 2.25" 357) is a fair price. I bought one second hand from a seller who had it for two months for $450 OTD. Not a smokin' deal but good.

Ruger makes good guns and I have a few. Number 1 1st year 22-250. 77 First year long action ,Ruger Flattop 44 mag, First year BH 41 mag, A 3 screw SBH, 77 in 243, BH 45 Combo, BH 357 combo, SR 22 and a SP101 327 Fed. oh and a NM 22 Single six I've never shot. My wife has a BH 357/9mm combo a fellow gave her for her "truck gun". I had a 1911 till a month ago but someone talked me out of it. I replaced it with a Kimber yesterday

Current Ruger population, old style Blackhawk .357, new style Blackhawk in .327 Fed Mag. That is a hoot to shoot! LCR .327 Fed Mag, packs a wallop but shoot it better than any .38spl J-frame I've tried. A tricked out 10/22 and an AR556(just because). All keepers
