Ruger SR1911 Target 9mm...

I like it!

I picked up a used Commander SR1911 in 9mm. Shoots nice.

Sounds like a good deal from your side!

Fun:
I had a short range session yesterday. This thing is sighted in perfectly for me and tore a ragged hole in the target at seven yards and rang the gong at about 75 yards.

It doesn't sound like a fair trade. Not bashing Glocks, they are a useful tool. Just wondering if cash or a heap of goodies went along with the Glock?

Nice pistol and nice swap!

One tip. I have the 9mm Lightweight CMD and had endless double feed issues with the Ruger 9mm magazines. The solution was Wilson Combat 9mm magazines, fit is perfect and the feet lips are about 1/16 inch longer than the feed lips on the Ruger magazine. Currently have 7 of the Wilson Combat magazines and have not had one single failure since going to the Wilson Combat magazines.

Yes Sir. I run Wilson mags in all my 1911s. The two Ruger mags did function flawlessly though.

Ruger SR1911 9MM Target Model

Congratulations on the purchase of a
great pistol and getting rid of that Glock.

I have heard good reviews on the Ruger
1911 9MM and been wanting the Target
Model but, I keep finding Revolvers I
like better.

Given the very reasonable cost of 9MM
Ammo in stores, the 9MM can be a wise
decision for someone that doesn't reload.

Please give us a Range Report when you
get a chance. I would like to hear your
thoughts about it.

Traded a Glock for this nice little 1911.

Not my favourite 1911. But a 1911 nonetheless. And, even if I respect the Glock, and can shoot well with one. I don't really like the looks of them.

The Glock pistols are a very reliable tool and I always have a few around. They are very good trading stock and can be replaced at will.
