Ruger to acquire Marlin

Corporations are supposed to be focused on cutting manufacturing costs.

Not so much that as making and growing profits for their investors so that the company can survive and prosper. Which may include lowering costs among many other considerations. In fact that is the principal responsibility of management.

With respect to firearms, we would hope, maintaining and/or improving quality is part of the plan as well.

We would hope that is a by-product of the parent corporation's primary goal of making money for investors. Apparently, Remington struggled with both.
