Ruger's First Lever Action Marlin

Looks great, glad they’re up and running.

As history has taught us ….. Ruger new offerings are SLOW to appear in YOUR local store unless you happen to have one of the mega-big dealers nearby.

Here in the rural Midwest I’ll bet we don’t see them until Christmas 2022.

I am excited to finally find out about production starting. Quality will be there and I know that we will all be pleased with the new Rugers.

I predict it will be 3 - 4 years before the new Marlins will be common place in the market again.

Dinosaur Killer

The new Ruger/Marlin Model 1895 Stainless Steel
SBL 45-70Govt (aka. Jurassic Park Rifle) probably
a wise choice to manufactured first.

The Rifle is so popular, so versatile, so easy to
reload for, and can take down any North
American animal.

Also factor in the Collectability for a First Ruger/Marlin,
it will be hard to get your hands one. Just look at the
price of what they fetch now.

With a 300gr Cast Lead Bullet and IMR4198 powder
reload, in the SBL or GBL (Blued version) they are
devastating.

Go Team Ruger!

Troubling. I was hoping for a 357 or 44 mag. Not too many CAS are going to want a 45-70. I think they would have done better with a 94 in 44 mag. I've got money saved up for one but it looks like it may be awhile. Oh well, I wish them luck.

I know everyone is excited about the new Ruger lever actions. They are not New Haven, CT. Marlins.
They are Ruger lever actions.
Will they be better or worse, who knows? Marlins are long gone. May they Rest In Peace. 😢
This is a Marlin 1895 lever action. 😎

Nice to see them up and running. I have one Marlin a 336 in 35 Remington no cross bolt safety JM stamped It’s a keeper Be a long time before ruger makes a 336 in that chambering.

I have been a Marlin guy for many years and own a few in different calibers. I have sold some in the last few years including a 45/70. It is good to see that Ruger took it over as Remington made a mess of them. Not sure I will be in the market for one but I like Ruger and hope they turn out some nice rifles at a fair price.

Will these be "Ruglins"? The others were called "Remlins" if I recall. Just wondering.

Only if they suck will they be tagged with a negative moniker like Ruglin.
If Ruger pulls this off and they are a good quality accurate offering they will simply be called whatever name the factory decides to give them.
It will be interesting to see if the gun media gets greased enough to slobber all over them regardless of the quality.

I've got an original Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in 45/70 that I have taken everything from Deer, Black Bear, and Hogs with. I load my own but my load of a 300 Gr Hornady JHP can be found in factory loads. Great gun and cartridge.
Ruger has NEVER made junk.

Had a down payment on an 1894 in .357 for 18 months now. Harrumph. Got the accessories for it sitting in my office, too.
