When I was"On the job" I several times had contact with a man whose name was Richard Head, really!!! No idea what his parents had in mind with that one!:eek::)

In the late 80's I got to know the Director of Marketing for Gibson Guitars in Nashville. His name is Richard Head. I had several dealings with him and he was a very approachable and affable man.

He said that as a young man he became inured to the hurtful jokes and embraced his name.

He made lemonade.

I made a passing acquaintance with a gent who answered to Dacron as a first name. May have been a street name, but when I asked someone, the claim was that his full name was Dacron Polyester Whatever. (Insert the pull the name out of the hat joke here.) I hope they were pulling my leg, but there are some strange ones out there.

However, there is actually a Dick family name. I'll leave the possibilities to your imaginations. I ran into one example who was most aptly named, but even after half a century, I'm not going further.
