I was wondering if anyone has had experience ordering online from Rural King.

I ordered a P.C. Shield that was in stock on 12/15/17.

I called today after waiting the originally explained 7 to 10 work day processing time needed before it would be shipped to my local R K store in Florida ....
and was now informed an additional 7 to 10 days would be needed due to their very complicated Illinois laws above Federal regs.

This explanation/story just does not sit well with me.

Anyone ever had this type of extended delay with this company?

Thanks for any personal experience input and Happy New Year.

I've never done business with RK. Thanks to your post, I never will! It doesn't take additional weeks to "Figure out" the business they are already in! They were out of stock or order only as needed.

I purchased one of my Shield's from RK. No problem, best price, very friendly and the called me when it arrived at their store. We did the paper work, and they escorted me and the gun to my car. Very easy deal.

poorbroker, thanks for your reply and glad to see you are pleased with your purchase.
PROBLEM is I purchased and paid in full on December 15,2017 for what was an in stock Shield that as of today January 12, 2018 is still "in processing".
I can't believe I am the only person this extraordinary poor sales and service experiance.
They must be selling thousands of firearms a week to have this kind of backlog, or maybe only one person running the entire online business.

I will wait out their ridiculous 14 to 20 day processing timeline for an in stock firearm and hope I actually get it before February comes around!!! LOL.

Surely they mis-spoke or you misunderstood. I've been buying guns in IL since the late 1970's and have no clue what "Illinois laws above Federal regs" may be. To my knowledge, there are none unless you're an IL resident needing a FOID card and I gather you're in FL.

hitman,
No misunderstanding, as I questioned the CS on this several times, his response was that I would not/could not understand the complexities of the local state laws that went above and beyond Federal laws, and this was why it took so long to process an order be shipped to one of their own stores in Florida .

He was quite arrogant /overly defensive because I called him on this, probably because he was used to folks just accepting whatever story he gave them as gospel .

I would have to guess that dealing only with your local RK store for purchases of "in Stock" items might go smoother, but after I receive my Shield I will more then likely never set foot in one again due to the handling of this purchase.

I'm in Palm beach county FL. I ordered a Remington .380 on 1/6, to be shipped to a local FFL. I sent a copy of the FFL, haven't had any update or further contact about my order. It hasn't shipped yet. This gun has a $100 rebate that has to be filed before 1/31, not sure it is going to make it! The "customer service" web site looks like a 12 year old's attempt at a site creation and offers nothing at all! Not a good start for as company that is going after Internet sales.
