Rust Bluing at Home

I did a rust blue on a 1911 I built a couple years ago. It took 8 or 9 passes, but came out well. Be sure you start with very clean metal, scrub, scrub, scrub and then use acetone to make it completely oil free. I used the bluing solution from Blog | Rust Blue | The Authentic Bluing Solution and it worked well.
