Would it be helpful to put a small anti-rust pack in each box with my handguns? Didn't know if it would harm the blueing on the gun.

Not sure how many guns you have but the best source of rust prevention is a dehumidifier in the room your guns are kept in.

And not in water or air tight containers.

Dad's guns have been in the old wooden glass front gun cabinet for over 30 years. Once or twice a year he'll take them all out, wipe them down, and finish with a coat of wd40. There is and never has been any rust. (Or dust).

Granted, when we shoot he'll clean and oil the internals before and after shooting them. But his solution for long term storage works for him. He says the cabinet has to breathe. Don't go air tight, you'll screw it up.

I use gun socks, but none of my guns are 2 years old yet.
