Are the M&P 45's a single column or staggered column magazine? I checkec the website but couldn't find an answer to my question. Eventually I would like to pick up a M&P 45c but am wondering if even with the small grip if it will still be to large for my small hands w/ short fingers.

Thanks,

I believe all M&Ps thus far have been staggered stack (double stack). I am speaking from experience with my 45c when I say that with the small backstrap installed, it is the perfect fit for me and I have small hands. There is really only one way to find out if it will work for you. Try one.

I'd like to try one out but they are hard to find in the shops here and most have the medium grips installed and I don't have the chance to install the small one to see if it'll fit.

If the small one is still too large, remove it and cut a piece of ladder step grip strip to fit.

There's not a lot of difference in the medium and small back strap, but the small is perfect for me on my compact 45.

I have small hands and short fingers. I have a 4.5 inch barrel M&P 45 acp. :D Liked it so much I got a 9mm M&P Pro for competition. I ordered extra grip inserts to whittle down even smaller than the small. I ran across one for the 45 in brown and got it for a  2 tone effect. :D And to make sure I could tell them apart without looking down the barrel. ;)

My complaint is I have not be able to shoot the 45 enough. :( But I'm working on it.

x2. I take Small/Medium gloves and find that the MP 45 with either S or M insert is comfy. ( Small feels better but i shoot better with the medium.)
IMHO, The reason M&Ps sell them selves is the excellent and adaptable grip ergonomics. (I have 3 myself now :-)

I agree. I shoot just as well with my Glock, but the M&P feels and handles better. USPSA is about the shooting and the handling and reloading of the handgun.
