Hi folks,

Thought I would post some photos of my latest acquisition. I was able to trade into this 4inch Model 28-2 this weekend. I'm all in on this revolver for right at $500.

It appears to be pretty nice. The S/N is S324XXx (Corrected S/N) and I believe it's from 1968-70? The grips are numbered to the gun. The Bluing is pretty darn good for a 45-47 year old revolver. It's been shot but not abused in any way that I can tell. It does have wear on the cylinder and slight wear on the left side of the muzzle. Timing and lock up are great.

Thanks for looking,

Mike

Nice 28-2. Good price as well, especially for an "S" prefix gun in 4 inch. I am going to guess later manufacture as well, as I believe the 63-64 guns still had diamond checkered grips.

Folks he said his serial # is S32,XXX which is five digits ok? But I agree that the original grips would have been diamond magnas. To
the OP, are you sure that your serial number is only five digits?

You are correct! 324XXX! Sorry for the confusion and the grips are numbered to the gun. I can take a picture later and update this evening. How do I tell if they are original grips, numbered or not? Looks like I have some learning to do.
