Seems like I remember a thread about this one not long ago-- bobbed hammer, fancy (goofy IMHO) "wyatt Earp" engraving. Maybe search this forum?

Wasn't it called a Wyatt because it was a PC model copied from a customization done by Rich Wyatt on the "American Guns" TV show? Since they're under investigation from the IRS at the moment S&W may have put that model on hold.

Nope see they still have it listed on their web site....go here.....Product: Model 637 Wyatt Deep Cover

Interesting to hear that about Wyatt. I never cared for him in that show, he always seemed to be portraying his staff as idiots who couldn't get dressed without him. I did like seeing his wife though!

If it's going to be an EDC I agree w/others, save your money and get the 442/642. These can be ordered w/o the lock, but I'm not sure about the "Wyatt."

I live in Colorado and have been into the Gunsmoke store a couple of times. The guys in there have been jerks, offering very low price for trades (I saw a guy offered $175 for a mint 92fs), and really jacking up prices on used guns. If they've got a used gun for sale it's a "rare and valuable variant" and if they are buying used guns they are "problematic and everywhere".

I've never bought or sold anything there to be fair, but google around to see some of their unethical business practices. All that said, I'd never want anything associated with their name. I read of a guy who had a little bit of work done on his custom blank slide 1911, and after getting it back it had a large "gunsmoke" logo etched onto the slide. When he demanded it be fixed they told him to talk to their lawyer.

You can see in there show what kind of people they are!!!!!!!
from what I saw on there show I wouldn't let them work on a cap gun!

Call me silly and a newbie but I did pick this up last weekend for $509 before sales tax. The purpose was for concealed carry for which I haven't been using my license. It's a nice little shooter and highly concealable. I have a Springfield XDM .45, 4.5"; which really isn't concealable. I hadn't watched a minute of the show and somehow thought; Wyatt might have something to do with the famous lawman. At any rate, I'm happy to have it as it tucks away easily and my wife isn't frightened of it, unlike the XDM.

I was not overly impressed with this little wheelgun in terms of mechanical inprovements over a model 37, but if you like the cosmetic presentation, then it is worth it to the buyer

I have bought firearms just for their cosmetic appeal even though I had other firearms that were functionally equivalent. I am sure many of you have as well.

I don't mind it, kinda like the idea of a 637 with an action job and bobbed hammer actually. Could do w/o the Engraving but I can overlook that. Would probably change the grips out, I see no value in them, I guess they might be Ok to hold in your waistband for a minute or too, but I am pretty active and like my gun pretty secure.

Not meaning to revive this ugly head again but I just saw one in a gunstore here for over $600+-no thanks. I was thinking about all the problems the namesake in having with the famous gov't agency, having their show pulled etc and wondering if S&W will pull the plug on the firearm itself after a few runs.

So what's one more S&W safe queen on a spec with an acquisition at sub 500. We will see down the road but I think I am pretty safe at that price. Can't be any worse that the market at 15000+. My gut tells me that it won't be offered much longer. For what its worth I have seen far better small carries. Love my 36 no dash!

Reminds me of the sign at the antique shop...
we buy junk and sell fine used merchandise.

I suppose there are people who go in for a couple of these strange gun shop "reality" shows, but I am not one of them.

I think the whole thing is an unfortunate waste of labor, machine time and production materials when there is such a huge demand for other guns now.

I will have to give this one a thumbs down.
