S&B ammo

Has anyone experienced periodic fail-to-fire with S&B ammo ? Especially in striker fired semi-autos ?? Another forum has been discussing this and the general consensus is it is fairly common due to S&B primers being very hard

I will buy S&B over any other brand when I have a choice. Always been top notch quality. I recently picked up some S&B primers as well, no problems through my 629-6 or my XDM .45 3.8".

Never heard of anyone else having problems with that brand, either.

I've been using S&B 9mm FMJ for my range ammo for several years. Works very well in all my pistols including M&P and Glock.

I'f you're having light strikes you might want to check and clean your striker channel and striker. Often build up in the channel can cause a problem with light strikes.

S&B is very good ammo, however the primers are hard-like CCI.
A pistol that has light strike problems will cause F-T-F issues with S&B and several other brands. Sounds like you pistol needs new springs.

yes, great ammo but seems to have hard primers, fires fine in most of my guns but others not so much... theose others fire fine with all other ammo, and have heard of people having the same issue

I have found it very reliable....and loaded on the hot side. For the price it's hard to beat.

Never had a misfire with S&B. Do have to ream the primer pockets before reloading though.

Misfires are typically gun issues. Primers either work or are duds.

The only round of factory ammo that I have ever fired that resulted in a stuck bullet was a S&B round in .45 ACP. I was at a range requiring factory ammo and bought the box there. That said, I have bought S&B ammo again. It just goes to show that nothing is perfect.

Of the several thousand rounds of S&B 9mm I've shot thru my Glocks I've never had a single failure to fire nor a single dud.

I've fired thousands, if not tens-of-thousands, of rounds of 9mm through my various pistols...though mostly through my Glock 19. I've not had one problem.

However...a completely different story when speaking about my Glock 23 & G27 with .357 Sig barrels installed. I bought a half case of .357 Sig S&B ammo, and had too many failures-to-fire to even count. I'd estimate approximately 25-35% of the rounds failed to fire the first time...and probably half of that number never did fire, with the remainder finally firing on the 2nd, or occasionally 3rd, attempt. I did get lots of practice with "malfunction clearance drills" though...so I guess that's something!

I love S&B, and will buy it whenever it's available at a good price...but I'll never buy their .357 Sig ammo again!

too bad the stores around here don't order it.

Real Bummer, mostly for trap shooters with a
box of 12Ga at only $6.........hate to add on shipping cost.
