Here is a nearly flawless, (really) Model 29-2 'S' series. I believe it is a good candidate for an exceptional set of elephant tusk ivories. Of course they are targets with the S&W medallions.

I bought this gun naked. Someone had harvested the stocks from it as well as most of them from an estate collection. I have been sitting on it trying to decide what to put on it for adornment. Well, what say you? Good choice?

As I have said to my friend Bob before, "One and done".

Enjoy,

Man, those must have cost a pretty penny. I personally don't like ivory grips on blue guns though....I think they would look killer on a nickel. Can we see? Where do you order a pair of grips like that from?

I've never been a fan of ivory on a double action revolver. Single action Colts yes, but not on a DA gun...until now!
That is one is a beauty.

Bruce...Enjoyed our discussions in Tulsa and hearing about the target ivories. They are perfect for a perfect 29-2.

Those ivory stocks make a fine revolver look outstanding.

"bruce, it looks great. I thought you were putting those on the 4" nickle 29-2. the big question-how does it shoot? lee"

Good evening Lee,
The four inch nickel Model 29-2 has a beautiful set of rosewood targets and this poor 'S' series was without. I love the way it looks and feels.
As far as how does it shoot? I will never know.

Glad to see you made it home from Tulsa, Bill and I enjoyed the conversaton also. I would also like to thank you for MC'ing the BBQ Saturday. I had a good time.

I am still as excited about these ivories as the day I got them. They are all that I hoped they would be and more.

You will never have to convince me that ivory is the way to go. I just had Paul Persinger make a set of ivories for my new US Firearms revolver. I love ivory.
