Hi,
I wanted to ask a question to the specialists of the N°1 1/2 2nd Issue : originally, if the revolver is nickel plated, are the hammer and the trigger also nickel plated ?
Thanks in advance for your opinion,
Daniel

I assume you are referring to a tip-up 32 rimfire. I would say that sometime during its life, it was refinished. There are supposedly a few rare examples of an all nickel guns lettering as being original, but I still stay away from nickel triggers and hammers if I want a collectable. I do not know what the value of a revolver like this would be in Europe, but here they would sell for maybe $200 to $300 if it was determined the gun was refinished. Now if there are any unusual configurations like a octagon barrel (Transition model) or a rare barrel length, that would be a different story, but as is I would not personally buy it if it were to go into a collection.

danalex, hello again; what is concidered normal is the case hardened (case colored) hammer and trigger. As we know, never say never with any S&W product. It is possible; but not likely. Mike #283

See the attached photo. The second handgun from the top is a 2nd issue #1 1/2, and in nickle. You will note the trigger and hammer are case colored. This is and has been the standard on S&W revolvers almost forever. There may be exceptions but they are few.

Hello and thanks for all your comments.
I understand that this nickel parts are not original : in Europe, this tip up cal 32 is between 700$ to 1200$, in good condition.

I'm looking for buying a N°1 1/2 in fair condition because I need a hand and a hammer to replace them in a transition model.
If anybody has this in stock, I will be pleased to buy them !
Thanks Daniel
