I have a S&W M&P 45c pistol which I have 3 S&W 10 round magazines. Trouble is, I can only get 9 rounds in each magazine. The follower will not go down far enough for the tenth round! This couldn't be right, could it? Magazines are new so there is no crud blocking spring or follower. What could be the problem and how to correct it? Thank you

Use an uplula mag loader and report back. Also dismantle the magazine and see if there's any issue with the springs.

From SW, the stock 45C has an 8rd mag and the Full Size has a 10rd mag. Are you using the FS mag for the 45C compact?

Like kstud said, sometimes that last round requires a Maglula to help,it along. The mags are new, so it may take a while for them to break in.

My pistol has the 4.5 inch barrel and takes 10 round magazines. Came from S&W that way. I did disassemble the magazines and they are squeaky clean. I did a modification to one magazine by cutting 3/16 inch off bottom of plastic follower. Finally, the 10th round went in. BTW, I ordered a Uplula loader for 45acp. I will now modify the other 2 mags.

I'd call smith and request the newer style follower. Be prepared to pay for it, and it will probably be free.

I shot m&p45's exclusively for 2 yrs, I had issues with mag springs (the springs had a black spray paint on it) and smith eventually sent me 4 mag springs (I think a light blue) and new followers. The followers were slightly shorter than the version the mags came with.
