Hello I recently joined the forum based on a recent find I encountered a few days ago. I stumbled across a S&W 1076 and quickly put it in lay away. I'm not sure if it's an FBI gun or not but meets all the criteria I think? It has the checkered front strap and has the warning label engraved on the slide stating the weapon can be fired with the magazine removed. The serial number also starts with TFP and has two small indents under the decocking lever that I'm told supposedly makes it a Fed gun.
Not entirely sure if I buy that or not but if it is a FBI issue then that's a bonus for me..I got it just because I love the 3rd Gen auto's and have been wanting a 1076 for a couple of years now.
Here's a pic oh and it's gonna run me $600 when it's all said and done.
P.S: The pistol has the straight grips anyone know where I can locate a set of the FBI "palm swell" grips?
